Students participating in WISE Abroad internship or study abroad programs receive health insurance coverage as part of their program fees under the HTH Global Health Plan or CISI. CISI and HTH provide students traveling abroad with high quality health insurance programs and services. Students staying beyond the duration of the program are recommended to purchase additional insurance. Students are recommended to speak to their parents/guardians and family doctors to discuss their health care options. Students participating in the TEFL and Work and Travel USA programs will be assisted with the insurance application process.
WISE Abroad also recommends that study abroad and educate abroad participants purchase the International Student Identity Card (ISIC) and International Teacher Identity Card (ITIC) repectively, which offers additional health coverage and excellent travel savings and discounts. This card can be obtained online at http://www.myisic.com/MyISIC/GetYourCard/GetYourCard1.aspx for a price of $22.
